If you haven’t already, please try to explain your thoughts and hopes about the future as you were experiencing your personal trauma.
The future?
I had absolutely no dreams for a future. I simply existed. As a matter of fact, because I had no hope for happiness, I didn’t value my life and took risks that quite honestly had every potential to kill me.

It is amazing the traumas that a person can survive. But the trauma alone is not the tragedy. What is tragic is what happens inside our minds when the trauma occurs and after it has passed.
From the outside looking in, it may seem easy to understand who the perpetrator is and where the blame lies. For those that survive, the vision is not as clear.
We blame ourselves and in a lot of cases, we blame people that are safe to blame.
The tragedy is in our experience of the trauma. We harmed ourselves through depression, self mutilation, attempted suicide, drug abuse, and sought unhealthy sexual encounters and relationships.
The tragedy is that in most cases, we had nowhere to turn. And, in having nowhere to turn, we blamed ourselves.
The goal is to find hope. Hope that it can and will change. Hope that we can heal. In most cases, we need someone to believe in us.
If you’ve healed from tragedy or abuse in your past, it’s time for you to reach out and help someone else to heal. It’s time to share your story. Stop holding it so close inside. You’ll be amazed at how freeing and healing it is to let it go.
Let go and see!

“The tragedy is in our experience of the trauma.”
That hits a key point. Best regards, Walt
I think this is a key point as well and thank you for taking the time to come by and mention it. Thank you, Walt.
